Council of Ambassadors is an independent, non-profit association of ambassadors and former foreign ministers set up to assist in the creation and successful implementation of external, regional and international policy, EU and NATO integration, through support and motivation of ourinstitutions responsible for foreign policy creation to make fair and quality decisions based on comprehensive and quality analysis.

The main principles of action of the “Council of Ambassadors” are independence, professionalism, transparency, and objectivity.
The Council of Ambassadors is an association independent of state institutions, nonpartisan, while its views, recommendations, analyses, which focus on foreign policy making, have no party affiliation but state-building value in order to strengthen the capacity of institutions that create and practice foreign policy, by promoting bilateral political, economic and cultural relations with third countries, developing the Macedonian diplomatic network and its successful functioning, and by active and successful participation of Macedonian diplomatic representatives in multilateral organizations and international conferences.

The “Council of Ambassadors”, in cooperation with the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, will, in accordance with national law and relevant international conventions, advocate and protect the interests of former diplomats, career and non-career ambassadors who are no longer officially active in the diplomatic service.
In activities of the “Council of Ambassadors,” its members will work with state institutions responsible for designing and implementing foreign policy, then with NGOs and similar European and international associations.

The “Council of Ambassadors” will accomplish its goals through:
– formulating appropriate principally substantiated political views on various political events in the region and beyond, through informed debate, independent analysis and new policy ideas;
– organizing public debates on current political issues that are important for relations in the region and the world;
– organizing public debates in the country with the participation of diplomats from the country and abroad on current political, economic and security topics with proposals for action guidelines;
– delivering to foreign policy makers analyses, proposals, opinions, and suggestions on ways and possible directions for action in specific situations imposed by time and events in regional and world politics;
– holding public thematic debates with participation of prominent domestic and foreign experts on international relations;
– holding various seminars and workshops in the field of diplomacy and international relations;
– organizing lectures and trainings for young people in the field of diplomacy and international relations;
– publishing views to the public on various political events;
– maintaining a dialogue with foreign diplomatic missions in the country;
– participation in TV and other debates on foreign and international policy topics;
– publishing periodical newsletters;
The “Council of Ambassadors” promotes free expression, and allows its members to discuss in a personal capacity and to express and publish their own views, which may not be the official views of the association.
